Each week we take a chance to catch up with one (or two) of the up-and-coming Developmental Series drivers and find out a bit more about who we get to race with Thursday nights.
This week we are talking with Brian Shephard Jr. Who sits in 2nd place after 2 races.
Dane – How long have you been on iRacing? Or other sims?
Brian – I’ve only been racing on iRacing since March 2021. This is my first and only SIM.

Dane – What is your preferred type of racing, or do you have a specialty? What type of racing do you generally watch?
Brian – I really enjoy any type of Oval racing, asphalt or dirt.

Dane – The D series schedule is all over the place, what races are you looking forward to/ wary of.
Brian – The races I’m looking to this season: The Kia Optima at Charlotte, Dirt SS at Limaland (I have an official win there in the SS), Legends at Thompson. I’m not very well versed in road course but the ONE race that makes me nervous is the Pro 2 Lites at Phoenix

Dane – Follow up to that… is there a premiere race you want to for sure qualify for, something you think would be super fun.
Brian – I really want to qualify for the 410 Sprints at Knoxville. I have like 3 or 4 wins there on Official in the 360s and 2 wins in the Limited Lates.

Dane – Is there something you’re looking to take away from the series in terms of development?
Brian – I want to learn to be consistent at all forms of tracks and cars. I’m not worried about being the fastest all the time but consistence is my main focus.

Dane – Prediction time! If you’re going to win a race this season, what one is it going to be, where do you think you will land by seasons end?
Brian – The race I might win this year, probably Dirt SS at Limaland or the Optima at Charlotte. My main goal is to finish on top of the leaderboard at season end, so with that being said, you’re talking to the future Champion of the Core D-Series.
