Sit down with Terry Janssen #78

By Dane Simpson

Each week we take a chance to catch up with one (or two) of the up-and-coming Developmental Series drivers and find out a bit more about who we get to race with Tuesday nights.
This week we are talking with Terry Janssen, a veteran of season 5.2, sitting currently in 7th heading into the seasons final races.

Dane – How long have you been on iracing? Or other sims?
Terry – started with gt sport about 2 years ago. moved over to Iracing about a year ago and have not looked back

Dane – What is your preferred type of racing, or do you have a specialty? What type of racing do you generally watch?
Terry – From 3 years old I told everyone. I would race some day have fans and be watched on tv. Growing up with 2 oval tracks close to me. Id say oval is where its at. After breaking my neck this is the closest thing to me dream. Thank you to my weekly sponser Hackergolf.com for insuring I have race days off work and to the Core guys.

Dane – The D series schedule is all over the place, what races are you looking forward to/ wary of.
Terry – Next weeks race USA dirt I have lots of fun and can get around at a constant lap pace. I haven’t tried a Dallara yet and I am plagued with spinning on road corses.

Dane – Follow up to that… is there a premiere race you want to for sure qualify for, something you think would be super fun.
Terry – The chevy ss at Kansas is the race I think id have a solid chance.

Dane – Is there something you’re looking to take away from the series in terms of development?
Terry – yes better car control but to top that I do have an issue with picking the right pass locations. some races that I am on point I let the others go because I loose the confidence to make that pass.

Dane – Prediction time! If you’re going to win a race this season, what one is it going to be, where do you think you will land by seasons end?
Terry – next weeks race dirt USA practicing 100 percent slick track I am not far off the goal lap time. though solo practice way different having 10 plus drivers going after the win.
