Sit down with Todd Caudle #30

By Dane Simpson

Each week we take a chance to catch up with one of the up-and-coming Developmental Series drivers and find out a bit more about who we get to race with Tuesday nights.

Todd Caudle has yet to lead a lap this season, but his consistency is keeping him well within striking distance of first on the season. With a pair of top 5s and 4 for 4 on top 10s, Todd sits a mere 12 points back of 1st.

Dane – How long have you been on iracing? Or other sims?
Todd – I started iracing at the beginning of this year. Never tried other sims but played many different racing games on PlayStation.

Dane – What is your preferred type of racing, or do you have a specialty? What type of racing do you generally watch?
Todd – I prefer oval asphalt. I grew up watching oval short track racing and always watched nascar. I’m still trying to learn all the other styles of racing.

Dane – The D series schedule is all over the place, what races are you looking forward to/ wary of.
Todd – I’m looking forward to the legends at USA. I got my first win in those and feel pretty comfortable. Not looking forward to the pro lite trucks. For some reason I cannot figure those out.

Dane – Follow up to that… is there a premiere race you want to for sure qualify for, something you think would be super fun.
Todd – I think qualifying for the late model race. But any short track race I’d be happy with.

Dane – Is there something you’re looking to take away from the series in terms of development?
Todd – I’m really join the series to learn different styles of racing and to be in a league racing. Everyone I know is in leagues and just seems to be a lot better that official racing.

Dane – Prediction time! If you’re going to win a race this season, what one is it going to be, where do you think you will land by seasons end?
Todd – Hopefully I can pull off the win in the legends but if not my goal is to finish top 5 in points at the end of the year.
